About

I have such a hard time answering the question “What do you do?” Not because I don’t know what I want to do but because I do many things, more than I can handle sometimes. And I’m equally passionate about every one of them and it’s hard for me to label myself as one or the other.

Up until September 11, 2008 I was a Photo Editor for PhotoShelter and was laid off due to the company being terminated.  This gives me more time to focus on the rest of the things that I do, which are:

Photography: I like photographing people, so if you are a person and would like to be photographed…get at me. You can view my portfolio here www.AtifAteeq.com . In addition to that I am interested in nightlife and event photography, you can see those images here www.ShotByBrooklyn.com.

I’m also in the final stages of putting together a book that will feature my project “South Asians in a Post 911 New York

VANE: I founded a clothing and lifestyle brand called Vane with Eric Poon and Ravi Thane. I work along side Eric to lead the creative direction and take care of the day to day tasks of the brand. www.WEareVANE.com

Web Design: I am working on a bunch of freelance web design/development projects

Photo Editing: I freelance photo edit for photographers. I sit with them 1 to 1 and edit large amounts of photos down to a tight set.

Audio/Video: I am in the process of starting a small production company that will focus on creating original video and audio content for the Internet. More on that soon…

Yeah….so hectic is what my life has become!
